Frank Caufield is Managing Partner at Darwin Ventures. Frank founded Darwin Ventures in 2004. Through his unique experience, diverse network, and family history, Frank has gained access to the highest quality Venture Capital firms in Silicon Valley and identified and invested in the most compelling rising stars in the VC industry.
Frank has over 25 years of experience in high technology finance, business development, marketing and sales. As an entrepreneur Frank founded several companies, most recently MarkLogic, a NoSQL Database company. Frank also worked at the Xerox Venture Lab, the Venture Capital arm of Xerox PARC. While at Xerox, he engineered the spinout of Outride Corporation. Outride was sold to Google in 2001 and was only the second company ever purchased by Google.
Frank is an active angel investor with 24 angel investments in Silicon Valley based startups. As an investor and advisor Frank has been involved with many high profile companies such as Ooyala, 42Floors, Tremor, Octopart, Tile, and Ustream, to name a few.
Frank received a B.A. from the University of San Francisco, and a M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Business, UCLA.
Charlie Jadallah is a Partner at Darwin Ventures with strong entrepreneurial and business experience. He is a solid business executive with a long, demonstrable track record of success.
He is a investor/founder and board member EVP for Qualpay. Qualpay offers leading edge cloud based payment services for e-commerce and B-B companies. Prior, Charlie was a founder and EVP for Merchant e-Solutions running Business Development, Global Sales, and Corporate Development. Merchant e-Solutions offered end-to-end payment solutions and was acquired by Visa Brazil/Cielo in 2012 for $720 million.
Before that, Charlie worked with Oracle's strategic business development team launching e-commerce, venture capital, and other key strategic initiatives. Prior to Oracle, Charlie was an early employee at Netscape as Senior Director of Business Development for the global financial services sector. Charlie crafted Netscape's e-commerce and payment initiatives and created/implemented sales & marketing plans for various on-line banking platforms.
Charlie began his career at Visa USA/International in 1982 in various positions including POS systems development certifying start-up like Verifone, strategic planning, business and product development, as well as reporting operations and data management.
Charlie received a B.S. in Finance and Investments from San Diego State University and a M.B.A. from Notre Dame in California.
Scott Monahan is the Administrative Partner at Darwin Ventures. Scott has spent the last fifteen years in financial services, private equity and investment banking operations. Prior to his work at Darwin Ventures, Scott was Operations Manager at Rutberg & Company, a boutique investment bank, where he was responsible for oversight, compliance and operational aspects of the firm.
Previously, Scott was Administration Director of meVC Advisors, where he participated in the launch and management of the meVC Draper Fisher Jurvetson Fund I, a $330 million publicly traded venture capital fund. Prior to his time at meVC, Scott worked with the derivatives group at Bank of America.
Scott received his B.A. in Politics from New York University.
